Woff Gang
Artist: Rapper
Woff Senatus, a 28-year-old Haitian immigrant born on March 25, 1990, was born into the world of revolution to father Appolian Senatus and mother Destina Simon. As the 1st independent nation of African-descendant people in the new world of the Americas and the Caribbean, Haiti has shaped the recording artist known as WOFFGANG and WOFFGANG MOSAIC into a cultural and politically astute writer, performer and activist. If the worlds that we are born into shape who we are, then WOFFGANG was shaped by the historical, racial and political violence of one the poorest countries in America. With an army of flies, tents and shacks for housing, and a scarcity of natural resources, Haiti is a hard place to call home. Thanks to the mission of his aunt Limerciane Simon, his mother’s older sister, Woff and the rest of his family was given an opportunity of a better chance of life in the American state of Florida at the tinder age of 2. Becoming a needle in the haystack of thousands of Haitian immigrants in Florida, through his own art and mission of music, Woff has brought not only the Simon family together, but thousands of supportive fans all looking for inspiration, guidance and a new movement to stand up for. WOLFGANG MOSAIC now paves the way for the Haitian community to rise up with pride, to be accounted for nationally and worldwide through his art of painting, music, fashion and urban community mentorship. WOFFGANG aspires to influence those around him everywhere he goes. With both his mother and father gone by age 13, paint and brushes was not enough to escape the feelings of adornment and confusion, particularly during birthdays and the holiday seasons. Those days found young Woff falling into the wayward life of guns and drugs, while spending a period of time as a rebellious wanderer and homeless with an uncompromising spirit. But in August 2010, after a painful loss of his grandmother, the love of his life and his only consistent family member to lean on, in addition to the loss of Gibson Belizare, one of his closest friends who was gunned down and shot over 60 times in a shootout with police, Woff had a change of heart and mind. His personal reflections led to a hard awakening and new life choices. Woff realized that tomorrow wasn’t guaranteed or promised, while deciding to dedicate his life to uplifting the youth by any means possible and advising them on how not to make the same mistakes he made.
